Color Scanner 3590C and Color Scanner 4500
Production color
scanning. The clear
choice from Kodak.
The Kodak Digital Science Color Scanner 3590C
and Color Scanner 4500 break the barriers of price
and performance for color production scanning.
They scan at up to 85 pages per minute (ppm)
(uniform letter size or A4, landscape) with all the
reliability, ease of use, and affordability of the
Scanner 3000 Series. They share an industry-leading
feeder and paper path that save time and labor by
virtually eliminating presorting, jams, and rescans.
The feeder accepts and feeds batches of mixed
paper sizes and weights. It’s easy to add more pages
to a stack during scanning for continuous feeding.
SCAN IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME WITH COLOR.
Color capture enables the Scanner 3590C and
Scanner 4500 to “see” the whole page. Virtually all
the information on the page is captured: highlighting,
variations in background densities and colors, hand-
written annotations of every hue, routing stamps, etc.
In many cases, color scanning file size is not much
larger than equivalent black-and-white, so there’s no
performance sacrifice for routing and storing color on your network.

DUAL-PURPOSE COLOR AND BITONAL OR FULL DUPLEX COLOR;
PICK WHAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU.
The Color Scanner 3590C features bi-chromodal imaging, a Kodak innovation. It scans the
fronts of documents in color and the backs in black and white. It can also be set to scan the
fronts in black and white. In addition, the Color Scanner 3590C is designed to shift between color
and black and white scanning “on the fly,” making it ideal for batches with mixed documents.
The Color Scanner 4500 is available as a color-only simplex or duplex scanner for capturing
both sides of documents in color. Pre-scan document imprinting is available on the Color
Scanner 4500DP model to facilitate indexing, document tracking, and proof of scanning.
An innovative technology extends the use of color scanning into forms processing applica-
tions. Using ISIS or TWAIN drivers, dual stream (150 dpi color and 200 dpi bitonal images)
output can be produced simultaneously. This allows for simplex and duplex color scanning
for accurate viewing fidelity, plus optimum OCR/ICR recognition from bitonal scanning.
OPERATOR-FRIENDLY AND COMPATIBLE WITH SYSTEMS AND BUDGETS.
A single button is all you push to run either color scanner. On-board image processing
maintains image quality automatically. Training is fast and simple. The scanner comes
with an interactive CD, complete with video clips that instruct and help guide operators
through all scanner procedures. So operator turnover isn’t a problem.
Industry-standard interfaces and drivers bundled with the Color Scanner 3590C and
Color Scanner 4500 enable them to support a wide range of applications. Best of all,
they make color available at a very affordable price. User-replaceable parts, such as lamps
and feeder rollers, help keep the cost of ownership low, too, by minimizing downtime and
service calls. Plus, both color scanners are backed by worldwide service and support from
Kodak (where available).
